Welcome to Room 4 2015

Welcome to Room Four's blog for 2015.  We've had a name change as last year this blog belonged to Room Eight.

We have just completed of first 3 days back at school and have been very busy indeed.

Everyone was very excited about the class 'Twitter' wall where we each get to write about our new learning and thinking using 140 characters or less.  As well as giving us somewhere to share our thoughts with our classmates and families, our wall will help us to learn about cyber safety and cyber etiquette.  You have to be at least 13 to have a real Twitter account, so this gives us a chance to practise these skills offline.

We have been busy completing writing tasks and art work, and have been learning the procedures and expectations in our new classroom.  One thing that is quite different for all of us is Daily 5.  Daily 5 is a way of organising our literacy programme so that we get to select and complete different tasks to help improve our literacy skills.  So far we have begun to practise Read to Self and Read to Someone. Mrs McGhie said she was really impressed with how quickly we have learnt to do both of these.

We have just started creating and analysing graphs and data for Maths and will be learning lots about Statistics during the next few weeks.

We are really looking forward to sharing our learning journey with you, and we hope you will visit our blog regularly and leave comments for us about the work we are sharing with you.
